"Smart-Linear” on new Syntegon machine

Together with our partner Syntegon, one of the world market leaders in filling machines, PSA has developed a compact system for 3 stopper formats.

The Smart-Linear feeder processes piston and lyo stoppers on 10 tracks at up to 600 parts/min.

The decisive factor was to develop a system for an isolator. An isolator in the pharmaceutical industry is a closed system that creates an aseptic and safe working area to ensure the production of medicines. Accordingly, an isolator is completely sealed off from the outside environment to prevent contamination. The challenge for PSA here is to design the format parts of the feeder in such a way that they can be inserted sterilely through a port with a Ø 270 mm into the isolator and thus onto the machine.

The format parts are set up and changed exclusively by a robot that works inside the isolator.

Syntegon has developed a completely new machine and wants to set new standards in the field of high-speed filling. PSA is very proud to be part of this development and this new generation of machines. The system, and with it the feeder, was ceremoniously presented to a select group of globally renowned companies from the pharmaceutical industry at Syntegon's in-house exhibition at the end of May.
