Shorter lead times, higher availability and more safety with simulation & AI. We use software and artificial intelligence for the planning, design, simulation and commissioning of your feeding system. This enables us to transform your feeding system into the digital world and map a comprehensive digital twin. And that's before we even hold your workpiece in our hands!

For the digitalisation of feeding technology, RNA uses numerous, specially developed high-tech technologies that revolutionise the development and construction of feeding systems. As a technology leader, we are the only company in the world that is able to accompany you from the product idea to service with our digital technologies and significantly increase your benefits.

Design for Feeding & SolutionFinder

RNA supports you right from your initial product idea by giving you access to our artificial intelligence (AI). With the help of Geometric Deep Learning algorithms, we put you in a position at a very early stage of product creation to receive instant statements on feasibility, feeding performance and numerous other tips and information. What do we need for this? Nothing more than the CAD file of your workpiece! On our platform you have the possibility to upload your CAD model and enrich it with additional information and requests in order to evaluate the feedability of your product in the shortest possible time. Our platform draws on 50 years of expert knowledge and over 50,000 feeder projects - our AI-based SolutionFinder search platform always finds the best solution for you!

Digital Feeder - Digital twin and simulation of your feeding system

If you have chosen a feeder system from RNA, we offer you the unique added value of mapping your plant completely digitally – not statically, but dynamically! With our multiphysics simulation software Digital Feeder, we simulate the function of your plant in order to avoid cost- and time-intensive commissioning loops, which are common in feeding technology. Before the start of production, the sorting solutions we design can be tested by simulation, the optimum geometry of each individual sorting (tooling) can be determined, checked and approved. This makes RNA's feeding systems 100% digital and reproducible. The feeding system is equipped with material-specific toolings, which can be milled or printed. These toolings can thus be produced within a few days after simulation of the bulk material behaviour and changed within a few minutes - the digital twin of your feeding system!

Digital Motion – Tuning drives in the cloud

To ensure that the simulation has a very high congruence with reality, we have analysed the physics of vibration technology down to the smallest detail, modelled it mathematically and mapped it in our Digital Motion software. With the help of Digital Motion, you are in a position to map every RNA drive digitally in its entirety in order to match drives to the sorting rails/tooling or accumulation rails you use even before they are produced – from the angle of attack of the leaf springs to the balancing mass. This means that the balancing of the drive unit and rail segments can be mapped 100% digitally and valuable time can be saved during commissioning. This gives you certainty about the functionality of the identified solution at an early stage in the project. Digital Motion is not only available to us but also to all our customers, so that you too can benefit from RNA's digital solutions and gain a competitive advantage.

Bee RNA – RNA’s bee project

We asked ourselves what we as RNA could do to combat bee mortality. In the spring of 2021, we set up one bee colony on the roof of the new company building of Rhein-Nadel Automation GmbH at the main location in Aachen, and the BEE RNA project was born. We want to make a small contribution against bee mortality and for our environment.

For years, not only have insect numbers been declining, but a large part of the bee population worldwide is also dying. Without bees, life as we know it today would be unimaginable. It's hard to believe, but these little helpers make a significant contribution to the functioning of our ecosystem. The bee is one of the most important agricultural animals on our planet, but like many other insects it is threatened with extinction. Bees not only provide us with delicious honey, but also pollinate a third of all crops. Without them, there would be no fruit or delicious raspberry jam for breakfast. Bees ensure the spread of thousands of plants, which in turn serve as the food basis for countless animal species and thus contribute to the preservation of biodiversity. They thus play a central role in the preservation of our culture and agriculture. Bees are therefore significantly responsible for the functioning of our ecosystem, on which we humans depend.

It is all the more worrying that in Europe, but also worldwide, bee populations have declined dramatically in recent years. So much so that the bee, one of the most important agricultural animals on earth, is threatened with extinction. However, public awareness of bee mortality is rather low. As RNA, we want to do something about it and decided to launch the "BEE RNA" project at the beginning of 2021. The sunny roof garden on our company building is an ideal location for our bees. Due to the nearby park and numerous allotment gardens, they benefit from multiple pollen and nectar stocks. The bees cover a distance of up to 3 km.

With the first warm days in April 2021, the time had come and, with the help of a professional beekeeper, we were able to install our first bee colony on the roof of our new company building in Aachen. This beekeeper will continue to support us in the proper care of our bees in the coming months. We were lucky enough to receive a so-called economic colony with about 20,000 bees right at the beginning, which established and grew so well that we were able to take a so-called offshoot at the end of May and install a second colony on our roof in June. In addition to the joy of our own RNA honey, the preservation of bees and our contribution to sustainability as well as the preservation of the native plant world are the main focus of our project.

Environmental Protection

The following principles have been laid down in our corporate guidelines as the Rheinnadel Group's guidelines for environmental protection in order to ensure the group-wide safeguarding of our environmental protection standards and their continuous optimisation:

The continuous reduction of environmentally harmful emissions and energy consumption is the core objective of our environmental protection activities

Based on our own responsibility, environmental and climate protection are to be further developed in such a way that natural resources are conserved and burdens on the environment and our employees are avoided or at least reduced to a minimum.

In the planning and development of new products and production processes, environmental protection concerns must be given equal consideration.

The processed raw materials and intermediate products are to be returned to the economic cycle as completely as possible, and unavoidable waste is to be properly recycled or disposed of.

Our employees’ sense of responsibility in environmental protection matters should be strengthened. An objective and open dialogue should be conducted with them, which is conducive to the improvement of environmental protection aspects affecting the company.

Communication with the authorities responsible for environmental protection and the public shall be objective, open and trustworthy at all times.

Our customers are informed about our products’ properties and necessary safety measures in an appropriate manner and given advice on questions regarding the disposal of the products.

When selecting our suppliers and service providers, care shall be taken to ensure compliance with legal regulations and our standards in environmental protection.
