The RNA benefits of standardisation and digitalisation in feeding technology!
Standardisation and digitalisation belong together in order to reap the benefits of digitalisation in the long term. This applies to the standardisation of processes as well as products. Many of our customers are already benefiting from the immense advantages resulting from digitalisation. This time we would like to explain this using an example for one of our American customers.
With the help of digitalisation and our DigitalFeeder simulation software, we were able to analyse a medical application for one of our American customers. For an application in which 70 parts per minute - i.e. a total of 140 parts per minute - had previously been fed on two vibratory feeders, each on two lanes, we were able to use our simulation software to show that we could achieve the same performance on two lanes with our smallest linear feeding system FlexType S.
This enabled us to determine specific system parameters and ensure the required feed rate of > 80 parts/minute/lane without having to send sample parts to Germany or carry out practical preliminary tests. In addition, the customer will save a feeding system in his assembly line in the future, making the overall layout more compact.
The key to increasing efficiency here is the successful combination of our digital features with our standardised system range, in this case the FlexType S, a compact linear feeder that can be designed with multiple lanes and is available from stock with a basic structure as a prefabricated system base. Thanks to the use of digital technologies, standardisation makes it possible to define interfaces and installation spaces in the early stages of implementation. On this basis, subsequent processes can be improved, risk minimised regardless of location or sample availability, and throughput times can be certified.
This project demonstrates the requirements of an increasingly globalised and digital market. Overall, the consistent use of standardisation and digitalisation is crucial not only to increase efficiency and reduce costs, but also to improve flexibility and the ability to innovate in order to ensure long-term joint success with our customers.
