New milling machine

Since October, our new and third 5-axis milling machine from the DMU 75 Mono-Block series has been in operation in our machining department. As with the other two machines, this gives us the great advantage that it can mill simultaneously, i.e. all axes at the same time.

Thanks to the 5-axis clamping vices on the new DMU 75 from DMG Mori, fewer fixtures are needed and 5 faces can be machined without the need for re-clamping. With a spindle speed of 20,000 revs and an operating range of 750 x 650 x 560 mm, it is ideally suited for machining twisted rails. The Celos touchpad makes the new DMU 75 Mono Block even easier to operate. In addition, it features an automatic tool changer with 60 different tools and a Blum laser system for measuring tools. An automatic monitoring function for broken tool detection, which can send an alert to smart phones for for night operation, together with auto shutdown when the program ends, make machining safer and energy-efficient.

Besides the 5-axis milling machines, the machining department also has two further 3-axis milling machines. Another milling machine is to be purchased next year.
